The Rustin Fund for Global Equality directly links individuals and foundations to credible entities driving progress for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people in developing economies.

In recent years, there has been significant progress for LGBTI equality in parts of the world, especially in the United States, Europe and Australia. But in nearly 75 countries, same-sex acts are criminalized, and the death penalty can be applied for people accused of being LGBTI in several countries.

LGBTI people in parts of Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America face rejection from their families, extortion, harassment and other forms of harm. There’s a new generation confronting these daunting realities. They have the will–but they need financial support to sustain their work. This is where you can help drive change–and save lives–in partnership with a network of organizations and individual activists.

Through the Rustin Fund for Global Equality, you can directly support our partner organizations’ campaigns in successfully meeting their financial goals, and to drive progress. Working with a global board of advisors to ensure transparency and legitimacy, the Rustin Fund works proactively to fundraise for selected organizations. We also serve as a mechanism for organizations looking for US-based tax-exempt entities to receive donations on their behalf.
