Positive Champions Health and Empowerment Initiative (PCHEI) have a goal of raising US$25,000 or £18,600.00 to sustain and expand lifesaving, community-led protection services for LGBTQI+ people across Southwest Nigeria. Every week, our team responds to numerous LGBTQI+ people experiencing arbitrary arrest, violence, blackmail, forced eviction, family rejection, unlawful detention, and other human rights violations simply because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
Since January 2026, we have documented and responded to more than 206 human rights violations, providing emergency paralegal assistance, psychosocial counseling, crisis response, referrals to legal and healthcare services, and emergency support for LGBTQI+ persons and people living with HIV. These services are provided free of charge because many of the people we support have nowhere else to turn.
Your support will also help us take an important next step: establishing Ogun State’s first community-led emergency safe shelter for LGBTQI+ people. For someone fleeing violence or forced from their home, access to safe accommodation can be the difference between continued harm and the opportunity to recover with dignity.
With growing demand for our services and declining international funding for community-led LGBTQI+ organizations, your donation will help ensure that people in crisis continue to receive timely protection, legal support, mental health care, emergency assistance, and a pathway toward safety.
How Your Donation Helps
